NHD allows a two sentence thesis (not allowed in 8th Grade Humanities)

Start to think about Ethos, Pathos & Logos, too.

Social Studies

The students continued to read an article, complete a map, and analyze two LA Purchase Federalists letters to help with their understanding of the LA Purchase, America's first official movement west.

The students completed a timeline study/work on MLK Jr.'s life in order to answer the question- Did Martin Luther Achieve his life's dream?"

The students also watched a 360 movie that examined his impact and role on the Civil Right's movement post-Civil War.

The students looked over the new westward expansion vocabulary list, the Level 2 Guiding Question & the Level 3 Essential question.

The students watched a short 360 video introducing Manifest Destiny/America's movement west, and the students read a composition essay written by C. Beck (and answered analysis questions) . 

The students examined the image John Gast, American Progress 1872 and we discussed the content of the image.
