Direction with a how/why that incorporates the NHD theme
NHD allows a two sentence thesis (not allowed in 8th Grade Humanities)
Start to think about Ethos, Pathos & Logos, too.

The students looked over the new westward expansion vocabulary list, the Level 2 Guiding Question & the Level 3 Essential question.


The students watched a short 360 video introducing Manifest Destiny/America's movement west, and the students read a composition essay written by C. Beck (and answered analysis questions) . 

The students examined the image John Gast, American Progress 1872 and we discussed the content of the image.
