The students practiced completing another  DBQ (Commentary& one document only)

The students completed post-reading work on the short story "To Build a Fire" by Jack London. The students examined how the Klondike gold rush played a role in westward expansion. The students also analyzed how Jack London incorporated naturalism into his plot line.

In what ways can change/progress/growth be positive and negative?

The students used their westward expansion knowledge to support an argument/position essay that answers the unit's Level 3 question--> At what cost can expansion of one's nation be justified?
